We bought the ijnx URL when Andy Anderson was working on an "intelligent kitchen" project for a large telecomms client. The project was cancelled, but the client made a gift of the URL to us.
When the site first went up, it was a spoof design agency, just something to do with the name. One of our designers put together several gloriously over-the-top designs: one of them's here. If, of course, you like that kind of thing, we'll be happy to oblige: (in grey or several shades of purple if you'd prefer), although web design currently forms a very small proportion of our client base.
When Andy formed the company, he had a soft spot for the URL and incorporated the company around it. The rest, as they say, is history – a longer history than many internet start-ups can boast.
